So many women want to lose weight. The problem is that most of the methods they use to lose weight do not work. Watching the diet will take time but will yield good results. The same case applies for working out. A woman may want to lose some pounds so that she can fit in to a dress she bought to wear to her anniversary party. Losing so many pounds within a short period of time takes effort. It is not necessarily difficult. You can lose great amounts of weight by following guidelines.

Green tea is very efficient in burning calories. People who take green tea burn about 70 calories within 24 hours. This translates to 7.3 pounds in a year. Isn’t losing that amount of calories by simply taking tea great? It is simply science. Green tea has antioxidants that enhance metabolism called catechins. Metabolism burns fats. Enhanced metabolism caused by the antioxidants burns more fats.

  1. Avoid calories in a glass

Liquid calories are more dangerous than solid calories. Drinking smoothies will not make you feel satisfied the same way a plate of cereals will. For this reason you will be tempted to take another glass of the drink. Caffe mocha has a larger number of calories than pasta. It is more tempting to take another glass of caffe mocha than another dish of pasta. You should monitor the consumption of soda, smoothies and other beverages and drinks.

  1. Buy a set of weights

Strength building is a very effective way of burning the fats in the muscles. Buying some weights is good for your muscles. Reducing the fat in the muscles is a very effective way of losing weight. Strength building exercises are also worth trying. A few push-ups and bicep curls will burn a good amount of calories.

Salt has sodium. Sodium is an important nutrient to the body but it does not benefit the body when taken in large amounts. Sodium makes the body retain a lot of water. This discourages metabolism in the body.

Recent research has revealed that pepper helps to increase the basal metabolic rate in the body. Basal metabolism refers to the amount of calories that the body burns when at rest. Pepper contains a compound known as capsaicin that increases the body’s ability to release adrenaline. Adrenaline substantially increases the rate of metabolism in the body.

  1. Sleep well

Sleep deprivation will actually make you fat. This may sound funny but there is a scientific explanation behind it. Research shows that women who get an eight-hour sleep have a better metabolic rate than those who get less than four hours of sleep. Sleep for the recommended time which is 6-8 hours a day.

  1. Go for walks in the evening

Exercise is good at any time of the day. Metabolism tends to get slower towards the end of the day. Boosting the metabolism by going for an evening walk is therefore a good idea. Having a thirty minutes work out plan before dinner will boost the rate of metabolism. The boosted metabolism is likely to last for another three hours. This will burn the extra calories you take at the dinner table.

Skipping meals does not make you lose weight faster. The body will slow down metabolism to conserve energy. If this goes on for some time the body will not use the calories even after you take them. This results in a buildup of fat. Just make sure you do not go hungry.

  1. Add the amount of time you exercise

Most women who are trying to lose weight have a workout program. Adding some minutes to the amount of time you work out will help lose weight faster. Doing that extra exercise is important.

  1. Drink water

You will always hear your gym teacher tell you to take water. Drinking two liters of water every day will increase the rate of weight loss. Water is needed for metabolism. Drinking a substantial amount of water helps in the burning of fats through metabolism.

There are a lot of weight loss options in the market. There are people who advertise weight loss programs that promise weight loss in two weeks. Desperation makes women fall for these traps. There is no such thing as magic when it comes to weight loss; you have to work towards that slim figure you want.

Alcohol reduces the rate of metabolism. It hinders the body from burning fats normally. Reduce or avoid the consumption of alcohol.
